We lent our bedroom TV to a friend since they were still waiting on their household goods to arrive (they needed to be able to watch The World Cup!). I had a bunch of money saved up from tutoring and was looking for something to use it towards. We had mentioned buying a flatscreen for the bedroom, so now was the perfect opportunity! Don't get me wrong, we don't watch endless of hours of TV in bed. We really like to watch the "Planet Earth" and "Life" series late at night before going to bed, or a DVD we rented but want to get comfy and lay down to watch (next on the list is to buy recliner couches... but that might have to wait until the next house). We also decided to buy another Blu-Ray player for the bedroom since we've been buying mostly Blu-Ray's lately anyway.
The TV and Blu-Ray player was the easy part. Finding something suitable to put the TV on wasn't so much. We had a specific height/color/width requirement we were looking for. I think in one day, we went to 6 different places looking for something. Oh how we miss Target and Wal-Mart!!! When it comes to furniture out here, either things are super duper nice but comes with a hefty price-tag, or are average priced, but completley made of cheap materials and would most likely break in the next move.
We finally settled on a piece that does the job. I also got some cute decorations from the gift shop. Now it's just another place where we can store yet more of our books on! (I think we have more books than anything else in this house!).

Heh, well cash is so much easier to save for some reason. Plus you get to feel like a baller paying for big priced items in cash! :)
