4th of July Weekend!

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend this year! Thankfully, Joe was able to spend it with me! He was put on alert, but found out they were going to launch on Monday morning so he could enjoy the holiday!

Saturday I tutored in the morning and then we headed to the beach. Since last summer, we've been wanting to check out Reniassance Hotel. It's a 4-star resort and you can buy day-passes to use their private beach, pools, and jacuzzi's. They even have different sessions you can pay to swim with the dolphins. We missed the times, but we definitely want to go back and try it!

After a full day in the sun (we got lots of compliments on our tans!) we headed to a BBQ at a friends house. They lived right by Torii Beach so we were able to have a front row view on their upstairs balacony for the firework show! In fact, this year we got spoiled and saw two firework shows!

Sunday we prepped the house and food for a BBQ. We had some friends over for food and games and then headed down the street to catch the Kadena Firework show. We found a spot in a park that was right in front of the fireworks! The show was great and it might have been the best one I've seen (that I can remember). Hopefully next year I'll bring a tri-pod to capture some great firework pictures. I didn't get any good ones :(

Joe left this morning to pick-up a patient from mainland Japan to take them to the states. It should only be a short trip, and I hope it stays that way! My parents are coming into town soon and I'm super excited!
